The majority of the pregnancies progress without any issues and end up with the delivery of a healthy baby. However, it is important to keep an eye on any of the red flags that you might notice them and bring them to the attention of your doctor as soon as possible. Not all signs may harm the pregnancy if care is taken as advised by the doctor.

In some cases, a pregnancy may develop diabetes due to which the blood sugar levels can rise to more than normal levels. This form of diabetes can be detected in the glucose screening test.

About a  tenth of all pregnancies, even in the developed world, result in births earlier than the 37th week.  A preterm labor is when it occurs anytime between the 20th week and the 37th week of pregnancy.

Any vaginal bleeding from the mid to late pregnancy should be given immediate medical attention.
Other complications like preeclampsia, also need immediate medical attention.
