Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed your newborn. Breastfeeding is good not only for the baby but also helps the mother in many ways. Unfortunately, more than half of mothers who breastfeed at the hospital right after childbirth do not continue breastfeeding after they come from the hospital.

Breastfeeding A Newborn

More than 95 percent of women produce enough milk to feed their babies after 2 to 3 days of delivery. However, if the baby is not fed milk produced by the mother, she would gradually stop producing milk. On the other hand, if the baby is fed every 2 to 3 hours, including during the nights, the mother would produce enough milk to feed the baby sufficiently.

It has been proven that mother’s milk contains vitamins, protiens and antibodies that are very important for the growth of the newborn. The initial immunization in the baby’s body is derived from mother’s milk. Nothing can be more compatible for the baby’s little tummy than the mother’s milk.

Breastfeeding not only helps the baby to remain healthy and happy, the mother also benefits due to the oxytocin hormone released during breastfeeding. This hormone helps the uterus shrink to its original size much faster which makes the abdomen shed its bulky shape just in a few weeks.

It has also been observed that women who breastfeed, have their breasts firm even till they become pretty old.
